A Joyful Morning at Forest School:
What a delightful morning we had for our third forest school session with the RB-reception class! The sun peeked through the trees, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our little adventurers.
.The children collaborated to build an impressive obstacle course that everyone eagerly tackled. Creativity was in full bloom as some kids worked with dough and natural materials, while others embarked on a rescue mission for tiny creatures trapped in ice.
We saw teamwork flourish as children threaded treats for the birds and crafted beautiful wreaths. The sandpit was a hub of laughter, and many enjoyed weaving their natural finds into our frame. The sight of colourful ribbon sticks twirling in the breeze was simply enchanting!
Under Mrs. Kentish's guidance, some children learned to saw using both a bow saw and a pruning saw—an exciting skill to develop! After tidying up together, we gathered around the fire circle for snacks and played "Stick stick fire."
Next week promises even more fun as we continue our sawing adventures, create more wreaths, and start decorating our stick-santas (or Tomten, Gonks or the many other names they are called). Throughout the session, we emphasised kindness, conflict resolution, and the importance of caring for nature—lessons that will stay with them long after forest school ends.
